Rarely in the last couple of years have there been books that I didn’t finish reading; however, this one I couldn’t finish due to the increased frustration I was experiencing the more I read. I respect people’s viewpoints or opinions, but when writing a book about a Biblical book or topic it is imperative that caution be used and to let Scripture speak. If the author wishes to use outside sources from which opinions are formulated or share a point based on wherever it comes from, then the source should be referenced so readers can check out the information.
I found it hard to read as the author was jumping all around without an apparent flow of thought, opinion or format. The author starts in Genesis, which I figured he was going to in order to lay a foundation, but it quickly becomes a scattering of various verses or his comments without any connection to the current topic covered.
For me the scariest issue is the author making some statement about the end times based on his thought or who knows what, and a couple of them have absolutely no basis in the Word of God. My intent in writing this review is twofold: (1) The author will rewrite this book with sources listed and more organization of the material presented; (2) Make readers be aware of what the book is like as of this date. I believe without a single doubt that Scripture is God-breathed and to present the conclusions such as are presented here as fact is dangerous.
Please remember we are to be students of the Word of God, and if a book is published that appears to contain inaccurate information, people need to know. I cannot recommend The Seventh Trumpet & the Seven Thunders for the reasons mentioned above. Please know that this was a difficult review to write because I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I am accountable to the Lord for what I do or don’t do in this blogging ministry. He is whom I fear more than man himself, for He alone is God!
My rating is 1 star.
